Whether you're after a mid-morning pitstop or lazy lunch one sunny afternoon, be sure to head to Au vieux Châtelet along the river Seine. This inviting French brasserie, perched on the corner of 150 year-old Théâtre du Châtelet, is complete with pillar box red canopies, olde-worlde wood panelling and some of the best comfort food you'll find in this part of town.

With your pass, you can choose from the much-loved classic croque monsieur (a toasted sandwich with bubbly gruyère cheese, smoked ham and Dijon mustard, loaded with a rich, creamy béchamel sauce), or a croque madame (exactly the same base, with a fried egg thrown in for good measure - never a bad addition!)

You will also be offered a complimentary cassis-flavored kir royale Champagne cocktail, to be enjoyed from the sparkling sunny terrace in warmer weather, or hunkered down in a cosy spot inside during winter months.
